When a home is listed, a contract is signed. The Seller is providing the commodity being sold, and also paying any commission paid, and for these reasons legally, all real estate agents are working for the Seller. Most buyers are not aware of this. A Buyer should choose carefully a Realtor to represent them, and then sign a Buyers Representation Form. Contractually and legally, that agent is now bound to you, not the Seller. The Seller still pays for the commission earned however, your agent is now free to provide information they could not before and a true contract providing you additional service and loyalty has been forged. I always urge Buyer’s to make this commitment – it is in their best interests.
